Mark Zuckerberg's data appeared in Facebook leaks
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg's cell phone number appeared among the personal information that was leaked online on the hacking forum.
Multiple media outlets reported allegations of leakage of personal information about Zuckerberg, as his data was revealed, including his name, geographic location, marriage details, date of birth and his Facebook account.
And a user posted in a forum to hack the personal data of hundreds of millions of Facebook platform users for free online.
The data includes the personal information of more than 533 million Facebook users from 106 countries.
Cyber researcher Dave Walker said Mark Zuckerberg, as well as Facebook co-founder Chris Hughes and Dustin Moskowitz, were among the 533 million users whose personal data had been published.
On Twitter, Walker wrote: In terms of the Facebook #FacebookLeak leaks, the irony is that Mark Zuckerberg was also included in the leak among the 533 million people in the leak.
A Facebook spokesperson said: This is old data that was previously reported in 2019, and we detected this issue and fixed it in August 2019, without commenting on Zuckerberg's information.
Posting the entire dataset via the hacking forum for free now makes it widely available to anyone.
Although the leaked data is two years old, it provides valuable information to cybercriminals who use personal information to impersonate or trick people into handing over login data.
Previous Facebook privacy violations include the highly publicized Cambridge Analytica story.
Political data analytics company Cambridge Analytica obtained personal data from over 87 million Facebook users.
Facebook imposed a $ 5 billion fine on Facebook as part of the settlement over the company's misuse of user data.
Facebook then pledged to crack down on data breaches, and said in a blog post on its website after the Cambridge Analytica discoveries: It is taking action on potential past breaches and putting in place stronger safeguards to prevent future breaches.
